Email Recovery for Thunderbird provides two email recovery modes. Why?
This article describes the two operating modes for Email Recovery for Mozilla hunderbird.
Both modes are designed to recover emails, but have certain differences in the technologies
used.
Email Recovery for Mozilla Thunderbird is a program in the EmailAdept.com product line
with maximum functionality to recover lost emails in Mozilla Thunderbird. Therefore, two modes
of recovering deleted emails have been implemented at once in the utility - "Scan the email
store" and "Scan the entire disk." Switching between modes is accomplished by selecting the
tab on the left side of Email Recovery for Thunderbird.
"Scan the email store" Mode for Undeleting Thunderbird Emails.
"Scan the email store" mode is the most effective way of undeleting accidentally deleted
emails. The need to undelete emails usually occurs after inadvertent emptying the Trash folder
or carelessly removing correspondence with the <Shift>+<Del> key combination (objects
are removed without first going to the Trash folder). "Scan the email store" mode means that only
the message store is scanned, so undeleting emails can be accomplished quite quickly. A definite
plus of undeleting accidentally deleted e-mails in general, and in this mode in particular, is
the fact that it can be used not only to recover lost email, but its original location.
Before working with Email Recovery for Thunderbird in this mode, if necessary, you should select
the Windows user and Thunderbird user profile from the drop down list if it is different from Default
(when using Thunderbird with the option /P).
"Scan the entire disk" Mode for Recovering Deleted Emails in Difficult Cases.
"Scan the entire disk" mode is intended for recovering emails in so-called difficult cases. Scanning
the disk is advisable if, for example, an analysis of the message store does not give the desired results
of restoring emails or scanning the store is simply impossible. Scanning your hard drive means a thorough
data analysis, so recovering emails can take up to several hours. Take this into account before you begin
restoring emails.
Using the "Scan the entire disk" mode you can select analysis of a logical partition (if you're sure
exactly where the lost e-mails are) or your entire hard disk, for example, to recover deleted emails after
formatting the HDD or deleting a logical disk partition. When analyzing the hard drive, emails can be
recovered, but not their location in the Thunderbird directory structure.
Important: Recovering emails, like any reconstruction of data, helps to reconstruct many
of the lost or damaged emails, but can't guarantee that they are 100 percent identical to the original.
Often, especially after formatting the drive, restoring parts of these electronic messages (attachments,
text fragments, properties) is not possible.
